This animated drama by Academy Award-winning director Michel Hazanavicius (THE ARTIST) tells of an endangered baby during World War II, who is given a second chance... A poor woodcutter and his wife live in a forest surrounded by cold, hunger, poverty and a war raging all around them. Their lives change forever when the woodcutter's wife rescues a baby girl who has been thrown from one of the many trains that constantly pass through the forest. This baby, the "most precious of cargoes" needs to be protected at all costs from the many who mean her harm. Hazanavicius, director of The Artist, delivers this animated feature (selected for Cannes 2024) that depicts the best of humanity alongside the worst inhumanity.
