THE TEACHER

Shot entirely in Palestine by British-Palestinian filmmaker Farah Nabulsi, THE TEACHER is a timely, gripping and full of tension drama that follows a schoolteacher who struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with the chance of a new relationship with volunteer-worker Lisa and his emotional support for one of his students. On Tuesday, October 22nd, the Oscar-nominated director, Farah Nabulsi, will join us via zoom for a live Q&A after the screening of her film. For tickets to the event, please go here. THE TEACHER not only makes for a wonderful cinematic experience, but poses some all-important questions the wider world has seemingly avoided answering for too long. The director has described her work as “a story about characters that represent a severely margenalised and underrepresented people.” Nabulsi stated that she “needed to make this film to cope with the injustices I’ve witnessed.” The film premiered to rave reviews at the 48th Toronto Film Festival.THE TEACHER showing at: October 23, 5:30 pm
